Just like above commenter, I’ve been wondering why FanimeCon isn’t utilizing twitter to update details like this. People subscribe to FanimeCon on twitter to get updates like this.

So I have a question, as a first time Con-goer (lol word check? XD;; ) do we have our badges sent to us? and if we do do we get them sent to us after we order them or closer to the con’s date?

Hotels, when will the hotel reg open? It is really annoying to have to keep checking.

First time going to Fanime this year (I hope) so, if you pre-reg, what do you have to take to get the badge? Like, print-out, ID or whatnot?
I’ve been going to Fanime for a few years now, so I can answer a couple questions.
@ Brenda – You can buy passes at the door, but they are more expensive than if you do pre-registration. Last year the price for a full weekend pass at the door was $60. However, if you don’t want a pass for the whole event, you can also buy one for just the day. If i remember correctly those are about $35-40, depending on which day you buy it.
@ Susana – When you pre-register, you have to bring both a government ID and a print-out that you access through your account about a week before Fanime.
I missed the deadline. Can I still pay the $50.00? nobody sent me an email that I can already pay thru paypal.
Are we able to pay for badges for only 2 days? My crew and I can only come for Friday and Saturday, and wish to find out prices. I am also curious if we get our badges ahead of time, will this affect the prices for the artist alley table we wish to get? Thanks so much.
@ Demetrie – Unfortunately I don’t know about the Artist’s Alley (maybe go to the forums?), but I can tell you about the badges. Yes you can buy them for just select days of the convention, however doing that has a couple downsides. First of all, to buy badges for only select days, you have to buy them at the convention, which includes waiting in a long line (having the potential to be 3+ hours long on a busy Saturday afternoon), and each pass will (if I remember correctly) likely cost you approx. $30-40 since price varies by the day. Personally, from my experience going, I’d say just pre-register so you don’t have to go through the long lines, and you’ll get a good deal on the badge.

@ Haley – No, I’m afraid you really misunderstood my previous comment. Like I said before, you CAN buy passes at the convention for only that day if that’s how long you are going to be there. The only downside to doing it that way is you have to wait in line for a couple hours. I only suggested pre-registering to the other person since they are going for two days and would save money (buying one pass that covers all days they’re there instead of buying 2 daily passes), and it would save them hours of waiting in line to buy daily passes for those days. But if you’re only going for a day then you can of course buy a one day pass for I believe $30-40 at the convention.
