Swap Meet Rules

Sellers engaging in the FanimeCon 2010! Swap Meet dictates that you agree to these rules:

• Any adult (18 years of age as of FanimeCon 2010), who has an official 2010 FanimeCon attendee or staff badge valid for the day of the event is eligible to obtain selling space at the Swap Meet.

• No retail businesses, dealers, stores (or persons representing them) are allowed to participate as sellers in the swap meet. Individuals with FanimeCon Industry and Dealer badges are prohibited from selling at the event.

• All sellers must sign an agreement to these rules and pay a $20.00 fee (Full Space) or $10.00 fee (Half Space) per day of the event (Thursday and Friday). So, a Full Space for two days will cost $40.00. Please note, we can only accept cash payments for your space.

• The sale or trade of unlicensed, bootleg, or counterfeit goods is not allowed (e.g. SM, Everanime, Aliors, Elfin, fansubs, etc), however the sale/trade of doujin goods (comics, doujinshi, shitajiki, cards, or stationary) will be allowed.

• Please refrain from doing art commissions and the sale of personally created items at swap meet. These belong in Artists’ Alley. An extremely limited quantity of second-hand goods of this type or previously used cosplay items is okay.

• The display of goods must be suitable for a general audience (i.e., G rated). Anime, manga, or game-related adults-only materials should be restricted to one (1) clearly marked box with a lid. All adult materials require Photo ID age verification. The sale, trade, or showing of adult materials to anyone under 18 is a crime. If you are caught selling or showing adult material to a minor, you will be evicted from the convention and turned over to the police. Questionable items are prohibited and it is our judgment as to which items are appropriate. You must declare the box when you check in, and we will inspect it before you are escorted to your space.

• A maximum of two people may be in a seller’s space.

• You may not bring your own table to the swap meet, but a lightweight folding chair is acceptable.

• Because the facility is a union facility, you are advised against bringing your goods in on a hand truck or handcart. Be prepared to hand carry your boxes should the situation require it.

• Cash payment or bartering of items is permitted and is up to the discretion of the participants in the transaction.

• The convention is not legally responsible for the product’s condition or stated condition. All transactions are between the seller and buyer.

• Sellers have the right to refuse a sale or barter with anyone.

• All products brought into the swap meet will be inspected and all items that are in violation of these rules will not be permitted into the swap meet.

• Any questions regarding the implementation or interpretation of the rules above are subject to the final discretion of the Swap Meet Staff.

• Any instructions given by the swap meet staff to enforce these rules, the rules of FanimeCon, and the event facility, must be followed immediately.

• FanimeCon Swap Meet reserves the right to refuse access to anyone.
