Calling all Artists!
FanimeCon will soon be accepting applications for our 2025 Artist Alley.
As we begin this new cycle of applications, our team anticipates an increase in prospective applications. In recent years, we have observed more instances of applications attempting to include AI-generated art, as well as showcase blatant examples of selling by proxy – both of which are against our established Artist Alley policies. We acknowledge that due to staffing limitations, our application and jurying system takes longer than we plan for.
In an effort to evolve and improve our selection process, this year a portion of artists were invited by individual staff to return for FanimeCon’s 2025 Artist Alley. About 100 artists have been identified as returning folks who consistently receive high scores during jury and are known to demonstrate dedication in adhering to our Artist Alley policies. If you received an email this past week, know that the invitation was a legitimate inquiry on our end and we apologize for sending it without notice.
This does not mean that we are filling the entire Artist Alley with past artists. The application cycle will still run as it has in previous years. The accepted email invitations allow us to assess and evaluate ways to further accelerate our application process..
We do apologize for the suddenness of this notification and for any confusion our emails have caused.
In the next couple of weeks, we expect for the application process to begin, which will require all artists to make an account and submit their portfolios. More details to come soon!
