Join us for a spectacular showcase featuring independent J-Fashion designers! The J-Fashion runway shows will consist of exclusive first looks at pieces from your favorite brands from all over the world!

Pop! Show
Location: The Signia San Jose, Regency Ballroom 1
Saturday, May 23, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
The Pop! Fashion Show includes styles, such as decora, himekaji, and wafuku. Whether it’s bright pops of color and a pile of accessories, or a modern twist on traditional Japanese garb, these styles are united by the pursuit of individual creativity and expression through fashion.
Elegant Show
Location: The Signia San Jose, Regency Ballroom 1
Sunday, May 24, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
The Elegant Fashion Show includes styles, such as lolita fashion, ouji, mori kei, and otome kei. Taking inspiration from historical fashion of all periods, these styles incorporate intricate garment details, luxurious textiles, and a maximalist aesthetic to create clothing with a cultivated air of decadence.
Fashion Show Photo & Video Policy
Photography and videography of the fashion show are permitted for both personal and commercial use.
All attendees must:
- Keep clear of the runway
- Leave the staff photographer’s path unobstructed
- Refrain from otherwise disrupting the space or the show itself
Any such disruptions to the fashion show will be considered a breach of the FanimeCon Code of Conduct, and will result in any or all of the listed repercussions.
If you are a photographer and are interested in setting up in the runway room before doors open, please email us at jfashion@fanime.com with your name, days you are interested in attending, and a link to your portfolio. We will allow photographers in early on a case-by-case basis. Photographers are required to hold convention badges.

A. Gato Designs, a queer-owned J-Fashion and alternative fashion brand based in the DC metro area, is dedicated to creating items that prioritize comfort, inclusivity, and expression.
AC Unit – Pop! Show

AC Unit is the creative collaboration of a sister and artist duo. Together, they bring the vibrant world of Harajuku fashion, celebrating sweet, elegant, and goth styles. Paying homage to kawaii fashion’s DIY roots, they craft and curate playful accessories like kandi bracelets and hair bows as well as dreamy custom headpieces and clothing. Kawaii fashion is accessible to all, so AC Unit prioritizes buying materials from small businesses and thrift stores, and making size-adjustable clothing items.
