- Random Stage for Game One.
- The players play the first game of the set.
- The winning player of the preceding game must keep their character selection for the next game.

Double-blind Character Selection
Either player may request that a double-blind character selection occur. Both players will then select their first round character, with the selected third party validating that the character selections match the initial choices.
-
Pausing and the Home Button
Pauses (including the use of the PS4 button) are not permitted once the game has started. Pausing is only legal for the purpose of summoning a Tournament Official for cases of controller malfunction, external interference, or case-by-case reasons as deemed valid by Tournament Officials. All other pauses will incur a round loss to the player who pauses the game or game losses if the round results in a decisive win.
-
Stalling
Stalling, or otherwise intentionally making the game unplayable, is banned and at the discretion of tournament staff. Stalling includes but is not limited to becoming invisible or reaching a position that the player’s character can never be reached by the opposing character. Stalling will result in a forfeit of the game for the player that initiated the action.
-
Draws
If a game draw occurs through a Double K.O. or timeout on the game screen, the game will not be scored and both players will replay the tied game with the same character selections.
-

Warm-up periods, button checks, and “handwarmers” may not exceed 60 seconds on the game clock. Violation of this rule may result in a game loss at the discretion of the Tournament Official.
